Spicy Avocado Tuna Rolls

Spicy Avocado Tuna Rolls


  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 sheets nori seaweed
  • 1 can of tuna
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • Soy sauce, for serving
  • Wasabi, for serving
  • Pickled ginger, for serving


  1. Prepare the sushi rice according to the package instructions. In a small bowl, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Stir until the sugar and salt dissolve. Once the rice is cooked, add the vinegar mixture and stir to combine. Let cool.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and sriracha sauce. Set aside.
  3. Place a sheet of nori seaweed on a sushi mat. Spread a thin layer of rice over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top. Place a small amount of tuna and avocado in a line across the middle of the rice.
  4. Roll the sushi tightly, using the sushi mat to help. Dampen the top border of the nori with water to help it stick together.
  5. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Use a sharp knife to cut the rolls into slices.
  7. Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
